In truth, it started over a month ago when we made the decision to move to Arkansas. We had fifteen years of “stuff” accumulated in a house far too big for four people. The mantra “I’m getting rid of things that no longer serve me,”’ runs through my mind every time I make a run to Goodwill. We are to the point now that the things we need to let go no longer fit in the back of my SUV, which now has Arkansas plates.
I’ve never sold anything on Facebook Marketplace before, but now I know why. So far, I’ve had two potential scammers who couldn’t trick me and got themselves reported, for what it’s worth. I’m to the point I may just have a garage sale instead.
Th house, of course, is the biggest thing that no longer serves us. It goes up on the market next week.
I’ve come to a point where I find myself happier with less. I’m thankful for the things that are important - family, close friends, and only the necessities of life.
The less we have to put in the moving truck, the better. The only place where I’d like more, is more room in the trash bin to facilitate the purge. Maybe more room in the SUV to start hauling stuff to the new house.
In due time, everything is coming with us … or not.
(Good news: We did get the camper moved to Arkansas. )
