This week's blog post comes to you from a lovely little cabin in the Pacific Northwest near the Olympic National Forest. Over the past week, we have been to Mt. St. Helen's, Mt. Rainier and all points in between. We have some lovely friends who have put us up in Bellvue and this has been a nice treat to escape the city and spend some quality time hiking and hanging out with friends. Family Game Night has been a blast almost every evening. Today we started out on a two-mile hike that turned into closer to seven-miles. The wrong turn didn't dim our spirits, nor did the chilly rain that fell most of the day. We made the best of it, and have now had a lovely supper and it's time to write.
I'm elbow deep in rewrites for Book 5 and excited about a couple of personal appearances I have coming up. I have two podcast interviews on deck for October, and will be speaking at the Tulsa Nightwriter's Conference in a couple of weeks.
I hit 1,300 followers on Instagram this week (thanks to everyone who follows me @authorbetseyk) even when IG and FB were down for the better part of a day - I didn't notice because we were traveling and hiking.
I'm excited to announce I'm taking part in a Christmas anthology. The Veritas Codex team will be called to investigate a monster deep in the Blackwood in Germany. Is it Krampus, or the legendary Bigfoot? Either way, someone could end up on Santa's naughty list if the truth can't be discovered before Saint Nicholas makes his yearly visit.
